ITER’s third Tritium Plant Summit brought together approximately 70 participants from around the world on Sept. 15-18. Participants included staff from the ITER Organization, industry partners, suppliers, and member nations, including the US ITER tokamak exhaust processing team.
Participants at the summit discussed common challenges of using tritium, an isotope of hydrogen that is scarce in nature. For ITER, safe handling, recovery, and reuse of tritium is essential.
